Manage test data and still be compliant with GDPR – possible or impossible?
At this point, it should not come as a surprise that the new EU directive General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is in effect May 25th this year. The GDPR enforces the rights of the registered party as well as increases the responsibilities of the company managing the information. Many companies have been focused so far on identifying and securing personal data in production environments, but test data in software development is not excluded. The same GDPR regulation is valid also for test data, and we see many companies still using production data in testing environment without being properly anonymised.
Test data need to be managed in compliance with GDPR. New requirements are subsequently added in May that will affect how your development teams may work with testing and usage of test data. For one hour we will show a pragmatic approach that enables masking or synthetisation of test data for developers and testers. We will walk you through a reference project where this was performed and show you exciting tools currently available allowing efficient test data management in development organisations.
