Welcome!
Welcome to our Lemontree morning event, where we will focus on why model-based testing is a good idea for QA.
By using a visual tool, business analysts, developers, and testers can work together on projects. By using a model, they have a universal language through the life cycle of development. Models are more accessible, easier to understand, and take less time to process. It also opens up the possibility to automate without using code. It will minimize bottlenecks and detect errors early in the development process. Using a model will simplify the “shift left” since QA can uproot design defects earlier.
Lemontree’s expert Tomas Rosenqvist will talk about different concepts in model-based testing. He will also explain why model-based approaches are appropriate in the quality assurance of software. And discuss the pros, cons, and possibilities of using this method
A concrete model can be shared with others
Smart software allows you to create a model to generate automated tests in a way that maximizes test coverage.
As the requirements and system eventually change, it is enough to update the model correspondingly and regenerate the test cases. The test-automation should keep up.
Because test cases and associated automation is generating mechanically, no one needs to sit and manually maintain automated regression test cases in the future. Instead, the testers can put that time into other activities that provide more value, such as exploratory testing.
Even those who do not work daily with test automation can gain from switching to model-based testing. By inspecting the model can all stakeholders quickly get a clear view of what
is tested or not, without having to read the automation code.
